 Write your letter. You must include the following:

• the name of the singer or group and where and when the performance took place
• details of what the newspaper criticized
• why you thought the performance was so enjoyable.

 Cover all three points above in detail. You should make sure your letter is polite but persuasive.  Start your letter ‘Dear Editor,’ and remember to add an appropriate ending.

On 12^th April 2018, a musical performance was displayed during the annual Civilians Award Ceremony by renowned Pakistani singer – Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The function took place in the Crystal Ball hall, Serena Hotel, comprising of more than two thousand invited guests.

Recently, I read a report in your prestigious newspaper which unfortunately seemed to present some biased views about the performance by a single individual. During one song, there was a small issue with the guitarists, that led to a delay of about ten seconds during that item. This is indeed not expected by any band during such an important event. However, the criticism presented in the report entitled, “Poor management at the Civilian Award Ceremony”, published on April 13 on Page 2 of your newspaper, mainly targeted only Rahat Fateh Ali Khan himself, mentioning exaggerated details about this small issue and blaming the legend singer for not preparing well for a national event.

The report also mentioned that the dance performance at the songs were not choreographed, leading to less attention and early quit of supporters. Moreover, he also criticized on tune that the guitarist produced, did not match the pace of the song and was quite too slow causing Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to break the rhythm of his famous song.

According to my point of view, the performance was quite pleasing and enjoyable, and he did allure everyone by his captivating performance for the whole time except for those couple of moments. The arrangements, quality of food and attendance was quite huge including many foreigners being a part, despite a working day. Importance of music performance to the local culture cited the performers as a source of national pride and was a very warm welcome for the visitor to Pakistan. The vibrant atmosphere, the obvious enjoyment of the fans and the deep meaning of the lyrics moving them to tears.

Saying with grief, publishing these types of reports in a famous newspaper was what I did not expect from this newspaper. You should publish reports by having public’s view over this concert. I hope you will work hard on this issue and not publish these types of articles leading to confusion between nation and disrespect of a famous singer of Pakistan across the globe
